A social bookmarking system has many advantages over traditional resource location. All classifications of the resources is done by actual persons or people. They understand the content of the resource, unlike the programmed softwares, which uses algorithm to determine the meaning of a particular resource. People tend to find and bookmark web pages that may not have been indexed by web spiders. In addition to that, social bookmarking system ranks a resource, based on the number of times it has been bookmarked by users rather than rank it according to number of external links. From the search data perspective, there is no standard set of keywords, no standard for the structure of tags, mistagging, unclear tags. Social bookmarking is also not immune to corruption. Due to its popularity, some users have started considering it as a tool to use for SEO or search engine optimization to make their website rank higher. Spammers use them also to tag the page multiple times.
